Control New
Windows' Quick Settings inside Poni: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other quick buttons, then brightness and volume, plus the sound output and microphone to use. No need to open the Windows panel.
Control tab (the sliders icon)
Quick buttons
Eight buttons, each with its state under it. A button that's on is blue.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are split in two. Click the left part to turn them on or off. Click the arrow on the right to open the list of networks or devices in the Bluetooth & Wi-Fi tab. Under them you see the Wi-Fi network you're on, or the Bluetooth device that's connected, like your headphones.
- Keep awake: the PC doesn't go to sleep while it's on.
- Dark mode: Windows' dark theme.
- Microphone: mutes the microphone. While muted, the button is red and says Mic muted.
- Eye breaks: the 20-20-20 eye breaks from Health.
- Screenshot opens the Snipping Tool, and Lock locks the PC.
Brightness and volume
Under the buttons are two sliders side by side, as in Windows:
- Brightness of a laptop screen, and of external monitors that support DDC/CI. If the screen can't be changed from apps, the slider is dimmed.
- Volume. Click the speaker icon to mute or unmute.
Sound output and microphone
The button at the end of the volume slider shows the device in use, like a headphones icon. Click it for the Sound output page:
- On the left are all working sound outputs: headphones, the laptop's speakers, a monitor's speakers and so on. Click one to play sound there. The one in use has a check mark.
- On the right is the Microphone list. Click one to record from another microphone. The small button next to its title mutes the microphone.
- Your pick becomes Windows' default, the same as in Windows Settings → Sound. Apps that use the default device move along with it.
- Sound settings opens Windows Settings → Sound. The left arrow at the top goes back to the quick buttons.
Unplugged or disabled devices don't show. While the tab is open, the lists keep themselves up to date, also when another app switches the device.
Hide the Control tab or move it along the tab bar in Settings → Modules. See Settings.
