Calendar
Connect Google Calendar, Outlook or any other calendar with an iCal link, or create events right in Poni. Your events show on Home and the Dashboard, and Poni reminds you a few minutes before a meeting starts.
Settings → Calendar
How it works
Poni reads calendars through iCal links (ending in .ics). These links are read-only: Poni can see your events but can't change them. You don't sign in to Google or Microsoft in Poni.
Poni fetches all calendars again every 5 minutes, and also when you open Poni if the last fetch is more than a minute old. It loads events from yesterday to about six weeks ahead. Repeating events are understood, and cancelled events are left out.
Adding Google Calendar
- Open calendar.google.com in a browser on your computer. You can't get this link from the Google Calendar phone app.
- Click the gear icon at the top right, then Settings.
- In the left column, under Settings for my calendars, click the calendar you want in Poni.
- Scroll down to Integrate calendar.
- Copy the Secret address in iCal format. It starts with
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/and ends withbasic.ics. - In Poni, open Settings → Calendar. Under Subscribed calendars (iCal / .ics), type a name (for example
Work), pick a color, paste the link into the long box, then click Add.
Each Google calendar has its own link. If you have a work calendar and a personal one, add both, one at a time.
The secret address works like a key: anyone with the link can see your events. Don't share it. If it leaked, reset it in the same place in Google Calendar and paste the new link into Poni. On work or school accounts, the admin can hide this address.
Adding Outlook.com or Microsoft 365
- Open Outlook on the web: outlook.live.com for personal accounts, or outlook.office.com for work and school accounts.
- Click Settings (the gear icon), then Calendar → Shared calendars.
- Under Publish a calendar, pick the calendar and choose Can view all details.
- Click Publish. Outlook shows two links: HTML and ICS.
- Copy the ICS link and add it in Poni like the last Google step above.
Choose Can view all details, not just titles. Poni looks for meeting links in the event description, and the description is only included when all details are published.
On work accounts, the admin can turn off Publish a calendar. If you don't see it, ask your IT team.
Other calendars (iCloud and .ics links)
For iCloud, share the calendar as a Public Calendar in the Calendar app or on iCloud.com, then copy its webcal:// link. Other .ics links, like a public holiday calendar or a class schedule, are added the same way. Poni accepts links starting with https://, http:// or webcal://. Anything else is refused with Paste a valid https:// or webcal:// link.
Checking and removing calendars
- Each link shows in the list with its color dot and name. If Poni can't load it, an error appears under the name.
- Click Refresh now to fetch everything again now. Next to it you see Up to date, or how many calendars have errors.
- Click × on the right to remove a link. You can't edit the name or color yet; remove it and add it again.
Local events
Events you create in Poni itself, without any account. They're stored on this PC and are not sent to Google or Outlook.
- Open Settings → Calendar, section Local events.
- Type an Event title, for example
Team standup. - Pick the date and time. It starts at the next full hour.
- Enter the length in minutes. The default is 30, the minimum 5.
- Pick how it repeats: Once, Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly.
- If there is one, fill in Location or meeting link, like a room or a Google Meet link.
- Click Add event.
Local events are purple. The list shows the date, time, length, repeat and location. Click × to delete one. To change an event, delete it and create it again.
Reset all settings in Settings → About also removes your local events and all calendar links.
Meeting reminders
A few minutes before an event starts, the closed Poni shows its title and the time left, like in 5m, with a soft chime. If Poni is open, the reminder shows at its top instead. Set how early with the Meeting reminder slider, from 0 to 30 minutes. Set it to 0 to turn reminders off. All-day events get no reminder.
Events starting within 15 minutes also show as a countdown in the closed Poni, taking turns with music or timers. That's set in Settings → Live Activities → Events starting within 15 minutes. See The closed Poni.
Joining a meeting
Poni looks for Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex links in the event's location and description.
- Open Poni and go to the Home tab.
- Click the event in the calendar list.
- The meeting link opens in your browser, and you can join from there.
You can also click an event in the Up next (calendar) widget on the Dashboard. Events without a meeting link open the Windows calendar app.

The next event in the closed Poni New
When nothing else is going on, the closed Poni can show your next event (within the next 12 hours) on its left or right. Open Settings → General → Closed Poni and pick Next event for Left side or Right side. See The closed Poni.
Adding events with AI Chat New
You can also ask AI Chat, for example “schedule a client call tomorrow at 10”. The event goes into Local events, and you can take it back with Undo under the answer. See AI Chat.
