Notes

Quick notes in Poni, for phone numbers, ideas or a shopping list. The first line becomes the title, and everything saves by itself as you type.

Notes tab · Settings → Modules

Writing a note

  1. Open the Notes tab.
  2. Click New note at the top left. If you have no notes yet, you can also just start typing in the box on the right.
  3. Write a title on the first line, for example Weekly groceries.
  4. Press Enter and write the rest on the next lines.

There's no Save button. A note saves a moment after you stop typing, and also when you switch notes or close Poni. While you type, Poni doesn't close by itself. Press Esc or click outside Poni when you're done.

The list of notes

The left column lists all notes, the most recently changed at the top. Each one shows its title, date and a preview of the next lines. A note with only a title says No additional text, and an empty note is called New note.

Click a note to open it in the box on the right. Under the box, Edited shows the date and time of the last change.

Deleting a note

  1. Click the note you want to delete.
  2. Click the trash icon at the bottom right.

A deleted note is gone right away. Notes has no Trash and doesn't ask to confirm.

Good to know

  • Notes has no settings page of its own. Show, hide or move its tab in Settings → Modules.
  • Spell check is off, so code, links or mixed-language words don't get red underlines.
  • Notes are saved in notes.json in Poni's data folder (%APPDATA%\Poni), on this PC only.

Saving notes with AI Chat New

You can also ask AI Chat to save something to Notes, for example “note this content idea: product photo tips with a phone”. You can take the new note back with Undo under the answer. See AI Chat.
